Welcome to the Estaca de Bares Web Page. Over the years, many people were fortunate enough to be stationed at Estaca de Bares, Spain. Whether in the Coast Guard or Air Force or just passing by, who couldn't help but fall in love with the surrounding region. Since the closure of the site in February 1991, many changes have occurred. I wanted to create a page to reflect those changes and record the way things were. If you have any photos, stories or ideas please drop me a line. Please note that I started a lost and found page of people stationed at Estaca. Let me know if there are people to add to either list.

If you want to use any of these photos for commercial purposes you will need to contact the individual owner of the photos. It is with great sadness to write of the passing of Victor Paz Lopez. Victor was someone that nearly all people that worked or visited Estaca will remember as the cook that prepared our meals. Victor can be seen on the far left of the photo that appears below this post. Click here to see photos of Victor. Articles from Heraldo de Viveiro: Article 1 Article 2 Last updated: 06/17/2009 |
